Bhindi Do Pyaza or bhindi masala is a famous North Indian
dish. Its easy to make and is a delight for every kid. Double the onions and
medium spices and a dash of lemon juice surely make this Bhindi Do Pyaza very
flavorful. It goes very well with chapatti, nan or roti.

Ingredients





  1. Bhindi / Okra / Lady finger  – 250gms cut into medium pieces
  2. Tomato – 2 medium
    sized chopped into small pieces
  3. Onion – 2 medium sized cubed
  4. Hing / Asfotedia – 1pinch
  5. Ajwain / Carom seeds – ½ tsp
  6. Red Chili Flakes- ½ tsp
  7. Roughly crushed dhania
    /coriander – 1tsp
  8. Turmeric / Haldi powder –
    ½ tsp
  9. Red chili powder – 1 tsp
  10. Ginger / Sunth powder – ½
    tsp
  11. Kasuri methi – 1tsp
  12. Lemon Juice – ½ tsp  


Method Of Preparing
  1. Heat oil in a
    pan on medium heat.
  2. Once oil is
    hot, add the chopped bhindi.
  3. Sauté at low
    medium heat for 5 – 7 minutes.
  4. Remove bhindi
    from pan and set aside.
  5. In same pan
    add cubed onion, cook on low-medium heat for 4-5 minutes.
  6. Remove onion
    from pan and set aside.
  7. Heat 1 tablespoon
    oil in the same pan. Add hing, ajwain, chili flakes, roughly crushed dhania, haldi,
    chili powder and ginger powder.
  8. Add chopped
    tomatoes, salt, ginger powder and kasuri methi.
  9. Stir until all the ingredients get well combined. Cover the pan with the
    lid and cook till tomatoes and oil separates.
  10. Add fried bhindi, cubed onions and mix well all the ingredients.
  11. Cover the pan with the lid. Keep the heat on low medium flame and let it
    cook for 4-5 minutes more.
  12.  Ensure to keep stirring it few
    times in between so it gets cooked evenly.
  13. Add lemon juice and mix.
  14. Serve hot with roti, phulka or any bread of choice.
